An entrance hall in a corner of the building becomes the new address and at the same time brings together the community facilities, the library and the youth movement rooms. A new one-sided sloping roof heightens the sense of space, lets light in and improves the acoustics. The hall is connected with thepreviously underused rear garden. Different types of brick bear witness to successive constructions across time. The contemporary added layer of brick further underlines the patchwork of bricks.
Een inkomhal in de oksel van het gebouw wordt het nieuwe adres en verbindt de gemeenschapsfuncties, de bibliotheek en de jeugdbewegingslokalen. Een nieuw eenzijdig hellend dak verhoogt de ruimtelijkheid, brengt licht en verzorgt de akoestiek. De zaal wordt verbonden met de voorheen onderbenutte achtertuin. Verschillende soorten baksteen getuigen van opeenvolgende bouwsels doorheen de tijd. De hedendaagse toegevoegde laag van baksteen versterkt nog het baksteentapijt.
L’hall d’entrée situé dans l’aisselle du bâtiment devient la nouvelle adresse et relie en même temps les fonctions communautaires, la bibliothèque et les locaux de mouvement des jeunes. Un nouveau toit en pente unilatéral renforce la spatialité, laisse entrer la lumière et améliore l’acoustique. La salle est reliée avec le jardin arrière auparavant inutilisé. Différents types de briques témoignent de constructions successives au fil du temps. La couche de brique ajoutée contemporaine renforce davantage le tapis de briques.
