A former textile factory was converted into a loft with a restored concrete floor. The existing wooden rafters with metal clamps are still visible and support the new insulated roof made of industrial sandwich boards. The existing openings were fitted with new windows and a vast bay on the streetside opens up the house to its surroundings. Contemporary brickwork adds a readable layer to the façade.
Een voormalig textielfabriekje wordt omgebouwd tot woning met een gerestaureerde betonnen vloer. De bestaande houten spanten met metalen gordingen blijven zichtbaar en dragen het nieuwe geïsoleerde dak uit industriële sandwichpanelen. De bestaande openingen worden van nieuwe ramen voorzien en een kijkraam op de kop opent de woning naar de omgeving. Hedendaags metselwerk voegt een leesbare laag toe aan de gevel.
Anciennement une usine de textile a été transformée dans une habitation avec un sol en béton restauré. Les chevrons en bois existants avec des pinces métalliques restent apparentes et portent le nouveau toit isolé en panneaux sandwich industriels. Les ouvertures existantes ont été équipées de nouvelles fenêtres et une vaste baie côté rue ouvre l’habitation sur ses environs. La maçonnerie contemporaine ajoute une couche de lecture supplémentaire à la façade.
